In our community, the MCAF organizes and delivers a variety of community events and programs to celebrate diversity and to promote a welcoming and inclusive community, including: Creating Inclusive Workplaces Training; Partnership with local organizations to enhance inclusive service delivery; Canada Day participation with diverse ethno-cultural communities; World Refugee Day activities; Cultural Expressions Festival; Diversity, Inclusion & Anti-racism in Schools and Community in recognition of Black History Month, the March 21st UN International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, Newcomer Scholarship Fundraiser (World Dance & World Food). The work of the MCAF is enriched by our many volunteers and community partners.
Volunteers play an essential role at MCAF, providing valuable information and support to newcomers as they adapt to Canadian culture. Some ways you can volunteer at MCAF include being matched with newcomers arriving in Fredericton to facilitate newcomers’ participation in the community. This experience gives both the volunteer and the newcomer the opportunity to to learn more about the others culture and community.
