In L’Arche, our mission is to make known the gifts of adults with intellectual disabilities, revealed through mutually transforming relationships.
We invite you to join our community as a volunteer and discover the gift of these relationships.
Some examples of volunteer opportunities include:
-
Spending time with our members through a shared activity such as gardening, cooking, or going for a walk.
-
Helping out with fundraising events.
- Joining and contributing to community gatherings.
Our weekly programs include:
- Learning Kitchen: A two-hour cooking skills class held one day a week for up to 12 participants is taught by Chef Yves Dechaine at Greener Village.
- Plot to Plate: The spring/summer class offers sustainable food practices, enhances gardening skills, and builds on cooking skills.
- Learning on Location (LoL) Freddy Friday: Core members meet to participate in creative visual arts projects, seasonal crafts and physical activities.
- Life is About Learning: A summer day program that runs two or more days in the week and provides activities including a community garden project, nature scavenger hunts, berry picking, museum outings, and other activities in the Greater Fredericton Area.
