Harm Reduction volunteers provide support through various tasks, to the Fredericton Needle Exchange Program, which provides safer sex and safer substance use supplies to AIDS NB clients. Harm reduction volunteers are:
- Non-judgemental, particularly when it comes to substance use and STBBIs
- Have a genuine desire to help people
- Enjoy listening to people’s stories
- Upholding and understanding of the importance of confidentiality
- Eager to learn new skills
These tasks might include:
- Bundling harm reduction supplies
- Inventory
- Organizing supplies
- providing outreach
- Restocking supplies
