ABOUT CULTURAL BROKERS PROGRAM

If you know more than one  language, immigrated to Canada  from a  different country,  nterested in  helping newcomers to settle and i ntegrate into Canadian society, then becoming a Cultural Broker with MCAF might be your next step!

Cultural Brokers are connected with newcomers who are facing multiple barriers to settlement and integration. A cultural broker enhances access to community services for newcomers and supports organizations in the community that wish to offer culturally sensitive  and inclusive services to newcomers. This is often done through interpretation into  various languages and on-demand.

Requirements for becoming a Cultural  Broker: 
- Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector
- Resume
- Cultural Broker application  (attached)
- Introduction  to Interpretation training

- your time supporting newcomers is paid
- flexible schedule on-demand
- various professional training opportunities
- networking with other Cultural Brokers, MCAF staff, and community partners
