"As the nationwide leader and champion for mental health, Canadian Mental Health Association facilitates access to the resources people require to maintain and improve mental health and community integration, build resilience, and support recovery from mental illness." - CMHA Mission Statement
The Canadian Mental Health Association of New Brunswick (CMHA of NB) is looking for volunteers interested in wearing and/or handling our mascot costume for various fundraising and mental health related awareness events in the Greater Fredericton Area. Events will be both indoors and outdoors.
Here's how you can help:
- Interacting with the public (adults + children)
- Remaining enthusiastic and animated over the course of the event
- Posing for pictures with the public
The ideal volunteer is reliable, enthusiastic, fun, comfortable interacting with children and the general public, and not afraid of being the center of attention! Due to costume specificities, the height requirement for the costume is between 5'5" and 5'9" tall. Volunteers must have their own mode of transportation to and from all events. The "Myles" costume does have a cooling vest, but can still get quite warm inside so potential volunteers should also not be overly sensitive to heat.
If interested in volunteering:
Please contact marie-paule.leblanc@cmhanb.ca to request a volunteer application.
Please note that this volunteer position requires a current criminal/vulnerable sector background check. Please provide a copy along with your application, or speak to us about how to obtain one.
Volunteers will be called upon on an as needed basis. Flexibility is considered an asset.
If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to us at marie-paule.leblanc@cmhanb.ca or 506-859-8114 Ext 07
The CMHA of NB thanks and appreciates all of our volunteers... past, present, and future!
