Who We Are
We are people with and without intellectual disabilities who share life, celebrate and grow with one another, with a vision of a more inclusive society for all – a world where everyone belongs. While not affiliated with any particular faith tradition, there is a shared sense of spirituality in L’Arche. We seek individuals who are open to discovering the gifts of persons who carry an intellectual disability.
Principles of L’Arche
- Mutual care, respect, and compassion between people with and without intellectual disabilities.
- Sharing ordinary, daily life with all its joys and sorrows.
- Living, working, learning, and celebrating together in communities of belonging.
- Transforming our lives as we embrace our gifts and imperfections.
- Recognizing that we need each other and are better together
A model of inclusion, a way of peace, and a sign of hope for our world.
What We Do
L’Arche Fredericton works to reveal the dignity and gifts of adults with intellectual disabilities in our community, and create transformative relationships for all people.
Learning on Location (LoL) – In partnership with local agencies/groups, we organize programs and social activities for our core members and friends to establish lasting bonds and help each other flourish as individuals.
Our programs vary according to our monthly calendar. For more information check out our website or email us at larchefredericton@gmail.com.
