Volunteer: Openings on Board of DirectorsDo you love plants, animals, gardens and natural urban spaces? If so, maybe you would like to help grow and sustain the Fredericton Botanic Garden and support its mission to welcome Fredericton’s diverse communities to enjoy and learn about plants, gardens and nature. The Fredericton Botanic Garden Association (FBGA) is the membership based, charitable organization that is responsible for the Garden’s operations. We are seeking people willing to volunteer their time and talents on our Board of Directors, particularly to assist staff with communications and fundraising. We are keen to attract people with links to different parts of the community. Positions are available as several of our current Directors will reach the end of their term this spring. The Board meets quarterly (virtually in bad weather) and Committees set individual schedules. We’re entering an exciting phase in the Garden’s development, through a long-term planning process in partnership with the City of Fredericton. Through consultation we anticipate a renewed vision and strategic plan for the sustainable development of the Garden over fifteen years. Additional FBGA Board Members, with fresh ideas and diverse talents will help inform this process and strengthen our ability to implement the new plan. 2025 will see expanded programming and activities, and exciting new projects, in the Garden. Bringing new volunteers onboard, to help us get the word out, is essential! If you have promotion, writing, editorial, image-making and other creative skills, talents and ideas, we’d love to meet you.
