Whether you can volunteer a few days a week or just a few hours, your time can make a real difference in the lives of individuals and families in need. 

We have a variety of volunteer roles that are waiting to be filled throughout the Food Bank:

Front Desk Check-in : Be the warm, welcoming face that greets our clients! You'll check them in, schedule their next appointment, and provide that first bit of kindness as they walk through our doors.

Shopper: We believe in offering dignity through choice. Rather than handing out pre-packed boxes, our clients shop through our Food Bank just like in a grocery store! As a Shopper Volunteer, you'll walk alongside clients, helping them select items that suit their needs while offering friendly conversation and support.

Shelf Stocker-  Help keep our Food Bank running smoothly behind the scenes! Shelf Stockers organize and restock food and supplies to make sure everything is tidy and ready for clients. ( Some lifting required - but there's always help nearby!)

No matter the role, you will be apart of a team that is compassionate, committed and community focused. Every volunteer helps and brings dignity, hope and practical support to those who need it most.

The Salvation Army Fredericton

Monday, Wednesday & Friday's: 9am-12pm / 1pm-2pm

Are you a people person with a friendly smile with a love for helping people and wanting to give back to the Community of Fredericton?

We are looking for a few friendly faces to join our team here in the Food Bank. We are looking for a friendly face to be the first point of contact when your clients enter, help get them checked in, book their next appointment and review profile as required. 

We are also looking for volunteers who will take the clients "shopping" throughout their visit. At The Salvation Army we aim to give back dignity to our clients by providing personalized shopping experiences by giving clients choice, and conversation much like at the grocery stores. Appointments are booked every 15 minutes apart, which allows us the time to connect and make clients feel seen.

Location: 531 St Marys Street, Fredericton NB

Time Commitment: Flexible shifts ( Food Bank is open Monday, Wednesday Friday 9am-12pm & 1pm-2pm)

Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities: 

-Unpack, sort and stock donated food/ goods onto shelves

- Rotate Stock ensure freshness 

-Maintain organization of shelves.

-Support a safe and welcoming environment for all volunteers and clients.

Qualifications:

- Ability to lift 25-50lbs 

-Comfortable working in a team environment.

-Reliable, punctual, detail oriented.

-No prior experience, just come with a positive attitude and passion for helping our community.
