Dear Community Members, the Multicultural Association of Fredericton (MCAF) is currently recruiting new volunteers to support our annual Tax Clinic, which assists newcomers with filing their income taxes.
Volunteering with the MCAF Tax Clinic is a meaningful way to support financial stability and successful settlement in our community. Training and guidance are provided as part of the Canada Revenue Agency’s Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP).
We are looking for volunteers who have:
- Good Microsoft Office skills (especially working with forms and basic data entry)
- English language proficiency of CLB level 5 or higher
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when completing forms and reviewing information
- A positive attitude, patience, and a respectful approach when working with clients
- Availability during the tax filing season
Previous tax experience is an asset but not required. If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the registration form here:
We ask all interested in volunteering with MCAF to submit the following:
- completed volunteer application (https://forms.office.com/r/NBwbWckmMR)
- resume or brief work history with 3 references (can be included in the application)
- *recent criminal record check with the vulnerable sector (if you are 18+; CRC must be no older than 6 months)
*A Criminal Record Check with the vulnerable sector check can be obtained through:
- Fredericton Police- online, if the applicant is living within the city limits, resides in Canada for over a year, and has previously applied for CRC
- The Fredericton City Hall- in person, if the applicant is living within the city limits, resides in Canada for less than a year, and is applying for the first time
- RCPM- in person only, if the applicant is living outside of the city limits
