Come and join a great community event, and support those who are affected by inflammatory bowel disease.
Gutsy Walk is Crohn’s and Colitis Canada’s signature national fundraising event, with thousands of people across Canada coming together on one day to raise money to advance medical research and improve the lives of the 1 in 140 Canadians who live with these chronic diseases.
This year, Gutsy Walk is on Sunday, June 4, 2023. Gutsy Walkers are encouraged to do the walk in their community to raise awareness and fundraise for cures.
As a Gutsy Walk Committee Member, you’ll be working closely with a team of other volunteers to plan and promote your local virtual Gutsy Walk. Your efforts in connecting and engaging your community at a virtual level—whatever your volunteer role with Gutsy Walk—will make a big impact in raising awareness about IBD and finding cures.
In particular, we’re looking for volunteers to support their local virtual Gutsy Walk in the following ways:
- Community Outreach –inspire people to sign-up and participate in our 26th Gutsy Walk
- Media Relations –connect with local media outlets to promote the Gutsy Walk
- Social Media –raise awareness about IBD and the Gutsy Walk through social media
- Fundraising –organize exciting virtual fundraisers in your community
- Corporate Sponsorship –engage with local businesses to promote donations of sponsorship and gifts in kind
- Stewardship –build relationships with Gutsy Walk participants and encourage engagement
Time commitment:
- Approximately 4-8 hours a month, with flexibility around your schedule
- Attending a virtual monthly evening committee meeting by teleconference or online
- This role requires a commitment until post-event wrap up in June
We’re looking for people who are eager to use their skills to help make our virtual Gusty Walk the best it can be.
